Looking for somewhere local to treat your sweetheart for Valentines Day?

Christ the King Catholic Church may have the right solution for you with its 16th annual Italian Dinner.

Organizer Kathy Frye said Thursday they plan to make about 500 meals and tickets are on sale now.

“We do sell tickets early and on the day of the event,” she said. “Last year we served 500 meals.”

Frye said this year’s menu will be a choice of lasagna or spaghetti and meatballs, homemade bread, Italian salad and pizelle.

Children’s plates are $5 and are for children 2-12, and adults plates are $9.

Frye said those who choose to dine in will get an Italian restaurant-type feel complete with checkered-table clothes and drippy candles.

“We make it fun,” she said. “The kids serve everyone.”

Proceeds from the event go to help fund the youth’s mission trip for the summer.

“When you come in and eat with us, you get your choice of beverage, as well,” she aid. “We will also have a dessert and cappuccino bar, which costs extra.”

The event will kick off at 4 p.m., and will last until 8:30 p.m.

A carry-out option is available.

“We enjoy it, and we love that our community enjoys it as well,” Frye said.
