Reid teaches weekly paint parties at LAAC

The Lower Alabama Arts Coalition holds a weekly paint party, and last week those who attended the party painted a “just so cute” sheep.

Liz Reid, a local artist, teaches the paint class every Thursday at 6 p.m. with a variety of art subjects from flowers, animals and multiple themes.

At the Thurs., Jan. 15, paint party, Reid instructed students how to paint a sheep that she enthusiastically said was “just so cute.”

From start to finish, Reid demonstrates each step in the painting process and helps students as they learn the finer details to mixing paints, utilizing the paintbrushes and which strokes provide the right texture.

The cost of the paint party is $30, and students are encouraged to “bring nothing but your fun self.”

For more information, call 334-222-3205 or stop by The Gallery at 116 E. Three Notch Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5:30 p.m. to reserve a spot.
