A pedestrian was injured Thursday night after being struck by a vehicle near the Cannon Oil station on Hwy 55.

Andalusia Police and Advanced EMS responded to the scene in the 6 o’clock hour.

The southbound lane of Hwy 55 was shut down for a while as patrol officers guided cars through a maze of police cars.

Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson said as of press time, the man, who has not yet been identified, was alive. His condition was unknown.
