Organizers of next weekend’s Little Black Dress event are busy lining up items for their silent auction.

The dinner, fashion show and silent auction that’s just for women will benefit the Covington County Imagination Library, a literacy program that provides free books to children residing in Covington County from birth to age 5 years. Reigning Miss Alabama Caitlin Brunell is the speaker.

Auction items include:

• A dining and arts package, with tickets to next year’s Covington Arts Council events, as well as gift certificates to Surly Mermaid, Beef O ‘Brady’s, Crow’s Nest, Ofelia’s and Hilltop.

• A spa package and gym membership, sponsored bty Salon Utopia and Andalusia Health and Fitness.

• A mattress from Mr. Mattress

• An occasional chair from Harold’s

• Jewelry from Sander’s and from Christopher’s

• A couture hat from Town and Country

• Designer accessories from Ward and Co.

• A portrait package from Memories by Monte

• Bistro napkins from Taylor Linen

• Work by local artists.

• A gift certificate from Alan Cotton’s Florist

• A car care package from Andalusia Ford.

Tickets for the Little Black Dress Event may be purchased at Harold’s Furniture or at Cadence Bank.

Individual tickets are $100; a table for six is $500.
