The Florala Police Department is investigating damage to lights in the Wetlands Park portion of Florala State Park.

Chief Sonny Bedsole said someone knocked over 16 lights in the park. The rechargeable lights mark the walkway.

“We have had trouble with this a time or two before,” Bedsole said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the FPD at 858-3244.

The wetlands park is part of the Alabama Birding Trail.

Ironically, the damage is believed to have occurred in the early evening hours, while local law enforcement and city officials were participating in a community meeting designed to build better relationships between community members and law enforcement.
