LAMP scored one run in the bottom of the fifth and beat Straughn 4-3 Friday night in day one of the Kirsten L. Dean softball tournament in Straughn.

Brentley Armstrong gave the Lady Tigers a 1-0 lead in the top of the first with an RBI on a fielder’s choice.

Hayden Willis and the LAMP starting pitcher dueled for the next few innings before LAMP took a 2-1 lead with a two-out, two-run double in the bottom of the first.

Straughn tied the game back up in the top of the fourth inning, and Armstrong put the Tigers back on top 3-2 with a sacrifice fly that scored Jacie Williamson in the top of the fifth.

As the time limit was reached, the fifth inning would be the final inning.

LAMP tied the contest with a RBI bunt single, and an error put the batter on second with no outs.

The runner moved to third on a past ball, and a well-placed bunt drove in the game’s winning run.

Straughn plays Pleasant Home at 2 p.m. today.
