Tuesday’s weather caused Opp’s Danley Plaza to collapse.
Initially, part of the wall and awning collapsed, but the remainder of the wall fell about 7:30 p.m.

A Chevrolet Malibu sustained damage after bricks fell on it.

Opp Mayor John Bartholomew said no one was injured during the collapse, which occurred just after 6 p.m.

The brick wall and awning was located between the Opp Cultural Arts Center and Rancho Grande.

Traffic from Covington Avenue to Hart Avenue along the Main Street was re-routed.

Bartholomew said now the city has to figure out who owns the property.

The Star-News will update when more details become available.
