Opp fell 5-0 in a hard-fought contest to the Enterprise Lady Wildcats on Thursday in Opp.

EHS broke through early with a run in the top of the first inning, and added two more in the top of the third inning when Brittney Lee crushed a two-run home run over the fence in left field.

The Lady Bobcats threatened in the bottom of the third when Tori Reisnour ripped a double into the left center gap with two outs, but the next batter grounded out to third to end the inning.

In the bottom of the fifth, the Lady Bobcats loaded the bases with one out. They nearly broke through when Anna Harrelson scorched a line drive into center field with two outs, but the Lady Wildcats’ center fielder had her played perfect to end the inning.

The Lady Wildcats added two more runs in the top of the seventh, and the Lady Bobcats went down in order in the bottom of the seventh.

“We actually didn’t play bad,” Lady Bobcats’ coach Jimmy Reeves said. “We were one hit away from being right back in the game, but it just wasn’t our day today. Our pitchers pitched well, but Enterprise is a good team, and they are well coached. Have to give them credit on this one.”
