The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles are one step closer to a state championship after they breezed through the Class 1A Area 3 tournament Monday in Pleasant Home on their way to becoming area champions.

In game one, the Lady Eagles faced the McKenzie Lady Tigers, and won 6-3.

In the championship game, the Lady Eagles met up with McKenzie once again. This time it wasn’t even a contest as the Lady Eagles annihilated the Lady Tigers 20-1 to win the area tournament to secure the area championship and a spot in next week’s regional tournament in Gulf Shores.

The Lady Eagles are young team with only one senior on the roster, but they have gotten contributions from younger players that are playing like seasoned pros.

They will be looking to those younger players to continue that type of play as they enter the regional tournament in Gulf Shores on May 8th.

The brackets for next week’s regional tournament will not be finalized until this weekend, but the Lady Eagles know that the competition will be strong no, matter who they are matched up against.
