William, Ava top baby names in 2014

The Social Security Administration recently announced the most popular baby names in Alabama for 2014. Ava and William topped the list.

The top five boys’ names in Alabama for 2014 were William, James, John, Mason and Elijah.

The top five girls’ names in Alabama for the same period were Ava, Emma, Olivia, Isabella and Elizabeth.

Carolyn W. Colvin, Acting Commissioner of Social Security, announced last week that Noah and Emma were the most popular baby names in the U.S.

Other top boys names were Liam, Mason, Jacob, William, Ethan, Michael, Alexander, James and Daniel.

Other top girls names were Olivia, Sophia, Isabella and Ava, Mia, Emily, Abigail, Madison and Charlotte.
