A pedestrian was killed Friday, July 3, while she was standing in the roadway on U.S. 31 in Butler County. T

he crash occurred at 10:50 p.m. at the 134.6 mile marker, five miles southeast of Greenville. Donna Lee Thompson, 32, of Greenville was struck and killed by a 2015 Freightliner truck driven by Gerald Dewayne Robinson, 47, of Red Level.

Thompson was pronounced dead at the scene by Butler County Coroner Wayne Garlock. Robinson was not injured. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
