E.L. “BUDDY” BROWN

Mr. E.L. “Buddy” Brown, 79, of Andalusia, formerly of Red Level, passed away on Sat., July 25, 2015, at Santa Rosa Health and Rehab in Milton, Fla.

A funeral service will be held tomorrow, Wed., July 29, 2015, at 10 a.m. from Fairmount Baptist Church with the Rev. Dwain Barnes officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Brown is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Steve Bailey of Pace, Fla.; and granddaughter, Tessa Bailey of Birmingham.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean Brown, who died in 1998.

Pallbearers will include Wesley Holley, Mike Craig, Christopher Huckabaa, Joe Darrell Griggs, James Russell Stephens and Mike Griggs.

Visitation will be today Tues., July 28, at Foreman Funeral Home from 5:30-8:00 p.m., and he will lie in state 30 minutes prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

SHIRLEY EVON CARPENTER

Mrs. Shirley Evon Carpenter, 66, of Andalusia, passed away on Sun., July 25, 2015, in a Pensacola, Fla. hospital.

A funeral service will be held tomorrow, Wed., July 29, 2015, at 2 p.m. from Foreman Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Canant officiating. Interment will follow in Old Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carpenter is survived by husband, James Carpenter of Andalusia; sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Wanda Carpenter of Dozier, James and Charity Carpenter of Red Level, Anthony and Sarah Beth Carpenter of Red Level, Timothy and Amber Carpenter of Dozier and Jeffery Carpenter of Red Level; daughters, Rebecca Carpenter of Red Level and Sylvia Carpenter of Andalusia; step-son, Michael Carpenter; step-daughters, Missy Nichols of Palm Bay, Fla., Melissa Carpenter of Orlando, Fla. and Serina Carpenter of Titusville, Fla.; 19-plus grandchildren; 13-plus great-grandchildren; sisters and brother-in-law, Gerline Melvin of Elberta, May Dean Richmond of Pullman, Mich. and Elsie May (Larry) Romine of Lake Placid, Fla.; brothers and sister-in-law, Coy Rhudy and Roy (Lynn) Rhudy of Andalusia; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents, Elgie C. and Nillie Taylor Rhudy; grandson, Jonathan Evan Carpenter; great-granddaughters, Skylar Rae and Scarlet Mae Carpenter; sisters, Mary Lou Hollingsworth and Odeen Parker; and brother, Charles Rhudy.

Pallbearers will include William Frank Carpenter Jr., Hunter Ray Carpenter, Robert Melvin, Thomas Melvin, Ronnie Walker, Gene Walker, Scott McCormick and Elmo Walker.
