An Opp man was charged with assault II after he allegedly cut another man.

According to OPD, patrol units were dispatched to the 700 block of Maude Avenue just after 2 p.m., in reference to a cutting.

Upon arrival, officers found a 45-year-old male who had been cut by a knife causing a severe laceration to his forearm and wrist.

Officers located Willie Ray Campbell on Maude Avenue and detained him.

The victim was taken to Mizell Memorial Hospital where he was treated for injuries.

Campbell has been charged with assault II and was booked in the Covington County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
