The Covington County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited of Covington County will hold its Fall Dinner Banquet on Thurs., Oct. 29.

Ducks Unlimited is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation of wetlands and associated upland habitats for waterfowl, other wildlife, and people.

Don Cuchens, who helped reorganize the local chapter, said the evening features barbecue and beer, a live auction, silent auction and raffle.

“On the live auction, we’ll have the gun of the year, knife of the year, and art work,” he said. “We’ve actually got two Ducks Unlimited flags in Auburn and Alabama colors. Opp High School has framed them for us and we hope to get a little competitive auction going for those.

Live musical entertainment also is planned, and several vendors will have merchandise on display, including tractors, four-wheelers and boats.

Cuchens said Horn Distributing is providing beverages for the event.

Tickets are available by calling Cuchens at 334.796.6825 or Daniel Collins at 205-807-5729. Tickets are $55 for singles; $75 for couple; and $25 for youth 17 and under.

They also are available online at ducks.org, and at the door.
