Don’t miss the magic Monday

There’s always a little magic in the air at the Kiwanis Covington County Fair, but this
year, there will actually be a magic show. Wisconsin native Bob Bohm will present The Magic of Bob Bohm, a show he promises is full of magic, comedy and fun, and is jam-packed with audience participation, baffling magic, live animals and side-splitting humor.
Bohm it all started with a magic kit he received for his 10th birthday.
Now, 35 years later he’s still performing all over the country as a full time magician, MC and Game Show host.
“I consider myself an entertainer first. So it doesn’t matter whether it’s my magic shows or game shows, as long as people are enjoying themselves, being entertained and having fun, I’ve done my job.”
He will perform in Andalusia on the opening day of the fair, Mon., Oct. 12, which is also School Day.
Performances are set on the outside stage at 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 9 p.m.
His appearance is sponsored by Jones Veterinary Hospital, Evergreen Veterinary Hospital, and Brewton Animal Hospital.

Christian artist to rock stage Wednesday

Contemporary Christian artist and pastor Erik Bledsoe will provide the entertainment on Wednesday night at the fair.
For many, his work will be familiar; for others, his performance will be a preview of 2016 D-Now, the discipleship weekend hosted each winter for Covington County youth.
On his website, www.erikbledsoemusic.com, the artist, who was reared in a Christian home, attended Bible College, and then lost his way, shares his story:
“On a Thursday night in the Spring 2001, while attending a conference much like those I am privileged to host, I finally reached the end of my own strength and surrendered my life to Christ. Slowly, under the careful guidance of my church community and those closest to me, I began to leave my old self for the new life Christ has for each of us.
“Since that time I’ve served as a small groups pastor, worship leader, recording artist, church consultant, church planter and pastor. My wife and I have been married for 10 years and have two unbelievable children. In addition to pastoring at home, I speak and lead worship at conferences, camps, and retreats, sharing my songs and stories of Christ with any one who will listen.”
The event is sponsored by Covington Electric Cooperative, Ed Short, CEO.
