2 charged in home burglaries

Investigators with the Opp Police Department have charged two individuals for separate residential burglaries and thefts.

A 17-year-old male resident who was involved in a residential burglary in the 800 Block of Maude Ave. where a hand gun was stolen, was remanded to the custody of the Department of Youth Services. The weapon was recovered.

Queshe Lawrence, a 19-year-old resident of Opp was placed under arrest by OPD Investigators and charged with burglary third degree and theft of property second degree. The arrest is related to a residential burglary that took place in the 500 Block of West Ida Ave. and involved the theft of a twelve gauge shotgun. The weapon was recovered. Bond was been set at $20,000.

The Opp Police Department asks that residents report suspicious activity around their homes or their neighbors’ homes to the Opp Police Department immediately by calling directly to the police department @ 493-4511 or by dialing 911.
