The LBWCC Saints battled back after falling behind by 20 points, but Bishop State held off the Saints for a 65-52 win Thursday night at LBW.

The Wildcats came rolling out of the gate and quickly built a 16-4 lead over the Saints in the opening period.

Nick Green sparked the Saints with a fast break layup to cut the lead down to 16-8.

After forcing a stop on the other end of the court, Kenneth Keith knocked down a 3-pointer, trimming the lead to 16-11 with 7:30 left in the opening half.

The Wildcats responded with a flurry of baskets and went on top 23-11 with just over four minutes left in the first half.

LBWCC wasn’t giving up and 2-pointers from Green and Tevin Dailey and 3-pointer from Calvin Spencer left the Saints trailing 26-23 at halftime.

The Wildcats were able to hold off a late Saints’ comeback attempt to take a 65-52 victory.

Green led the way for the Saints with 23 points on the night.

Keith finished the night with 10 points.

Travis Andrew led the Wildcats with 26 points in the win.
