Eagles pick up 7th straight sweep

The Pleasant Home Eagles picked up their seventh consecutive sweep with three victories over Highland Home Friday night in Pleasant Home.

The B-team Eagles got the night started on a strong note with a 62-12 stomping of the Flying Squadron.

Mason Kelley and Marvin Fantroy had 6 points each to give Pleasant Home a 17-5 lead at the end of the first period. Austin Kelley had 5 points in the first.

Mason Kelley surged in the second period with 11 points to give the Eagles a 36-8 lead at halftime.

With a stout defense in the third period, the Eagles increased their lead to 52-10 heading into the final period.

Mason Kelley led the way for the Eagles with 19 points in the win. Fantroy added 10 points for the Eagles.

Next up the Lady Eagles flexed their muscles with a 63-19 thrashing against Highland Home.

River Baldwin got the Lady Eagles rolling in the opening period with 12 points to help give Pleasant Home a 26-10 lead at the end of the first period.

In the second period, Cassidy Godwin chipped in 11 points and Baldwin added 10 points to give the Lady Eagles a 48-14 lead at halftime.

Baldwin tacked on 6 points in the third period to put Pleasant Home up 63-19 heading into the final period. Godwin and Abbey Walker added 2 points each for the Lady Eagles.

Neither team scored in the final period.

Baldwin led the way for the Lady Eagles with 28 points and Godwin finished with 19 points.

In the final game of the evening, the Eagles’ varsity boys team rolled to a 80-34 win over Highland Home.

The Eagles started the game by spreading the ball all over the court, and took a 22-3 lead into the second period.

Garrett Barton had 7 points in the opening period for the Eagles. Robert Scott and Aaron Warthen each added 5 points in the first.

Scott picked up 8 points in the second period, and Warthen and Barton added 4 points each to put Pleasant Home up 47-22 at halftime.

Barton continued his strong play in the third period with 8 more points to put the Eagles on top 70-27 heading into the final period.

Hunter Ward dropped in 8 points in the final period to give the Eagles an 80-34 victory.

Barton led the Eagles with 19 points. Scott finished with 18 points and Warthen tacked on 15 points. Ward finished the night 11 points.
