OPD nabs 2 in drug deal

Two Florida men are behind bars after suspicious activity was reported in the parking lot of an Opp pharmacy Wednesday afternoon.

Opp Police Chief Mike McDonald said that investigators located the vehicle on West Cummings Avenue where they stopped the vehicle and made contact with the vehicle occupants.

“Resultant to the investigation conducted by the investigators and a member of the 22nd Judicial Drug Task Force, Matthew J. Fincher, a 43-year-old male resident of Milton, Fla., was arrested for unlawful distribution of a controlled substance,” McDonald said.

Fincher is being held in the Covington County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

Joseph McCollum, 33, of Milton, was arrested for unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

He was booked into the county jail on a $10,000 bond.
