Opp’s baseball team secured a spot as in the playoffs as the Class 3A, Area 2 runner-up after blistering by Hillcrest-Evergreen on Tuesday in Evergreen.

OPP 16, HILLCREST 0

The Bobcats blew past the Jaguars in the opening game of the series and picked up a 16-0 shutout.

Cody Anderson picked up the win on the mound with three innings pitched and no runs allowed.

Anderson struck out six and allowed just one hit.

Orlando Lacey paced the Bobcats at the plate going 2-for-5 with two triples, three RBIs and three runs scored.

Ethan Baker finished the first game 2-for-3 with a RBI and one run scored.

In game two, Opp clinched the series with a 12-1 victory.

Britt Buckelew pitched two perfect innings and struck out four batters.

Ethan Baker and Kody Richburg each drove in two runs for the Bobcats.
