Andalusia Police Department officers on Wednesday morning responded to a traffic accident on East Three Notch Street involving a City of Andalusia trash truck.

The truck was en route to Coffee County to empty the loaded trailer when the accident occurred.

Andalusia Public Works director Glynn Rawls said each day, city employees haul garbage collected here to the Coffee County landfill near Elba.

The truck turned over in the curve between Stanley Avenue and Sanford Road, causing the load to be spilled in a yard.

There were no injuries reported and no other vehicles involved, Chief Paul Hudson said.

The accident remains under investigation to determine the cause.
