RETIREMENT RECEPTION FOR HUTCH

Gary W. Hutcheson, chief investigator for the Covington County district attorney’s office, will be honored with a retirement reception at 2 p.m. today, Fri., April 8, in the circuit courtroom of the Covington County Courthouse.

SPECIAL ADVENTURES

This year’s Special Adventures Day will be held today from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
It is sponsored by the FOP Lodge 19.
Thomas Huggins invites the public to attend Friday’s event and cheer on the students.
It will be held at Opp’s Channell-Lee Stadium, which is located on Brantley Street near Mizell Memorial Hospital.

PISTOL COMPETITION

The Covington County Incident Response Team will hold its 9th Annual Pistol Competition on today, April 8, at the Wilbur W. Williams Law Enforcement Training Center.
The event starts at 8 a.m.
While the competition is only open to law enforcement, Ireland said that the general public is welcome to attend the event.
“We always have someone cooking hamburgers or something like that around lunch,” IRT team leader Sgt. Nic Ireland said. “It’s a great opportunity for the public to come out and meet the local officers if they have never had the chance to. Overall, it’s just a really good day.”
