Initial plans are for the Covington County Relay for Life event to go on as planned this evening, even if it rains today.

Weather services are predicting 70 to 80 percent chance of rain this morning, with lesser chances this afternoon.

Event chairman Larry Brown said he is hopeful the system moves out before it is time to set up for Relay. However, if the weather is bad, the event will be moved inside the Kiwanis Community Center, he said.Opening ceremonies are at 6 p.m.
