Eagles fall on road

The Pleasant Home Eagles’ baseball team saw their season come to an end after falling in the opening two games to J.U. Blacksher in the second round of the Class 1A state playoffs.

 

J.U. BLACKSHER 12, PLEASANT HOME 2

J.U. Blacksher took an early lead in the opening game of the series and held on for a 12-2 win in five innings.

J.U. Blacksher took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and then added seven runs in the bottom of the first.

Two more runs in the third and one run in the fourth put J.U. Blacksher on top 12-0.

R.D. Clark singled to start the top of the fifth inning and then moved up to second when Reid Adams was hit-by-a-pitch.

A walk to Nic Woods loaded the bases for the Eagles and then Garrett Barton drove in two runs with a double to right.

 

J.U. BLACKSHER 11, PLEASANT HOME 3

The Eagles made it a seven-inning game in second game, but J.U. Blacksher busted out for eight runs in the top of the seventh to take an 11-3 win.

After J.U. Blacksher went on top 3-0, the Eagles rallied with three runs in the bottom of the third to tie the game.

The game remained tied until J.U. Blacksher plated eight runs in the final inning for an 11-3 victory.
