If you love Southern food, and don’t want to cook tonight, tickets are still available for Communities Caring 2016, a fundraiser for South Central Alabama Mental Health.

The Southern Shindig, slated for the Kiwanis Community Center tonight, features a Southern supper of fried chicken, fried okra, macaroni and cheese, tea and lemonade, and … wait for it … a biscuit bar.

“We’ve got biscuits, chocolate gravy, all kinds of fruit preserves and jellies, syrup, and white sausage gravy,” Staci Wilson of SCAMH said. “And we have plenty of biscuits if you want to try more than one thing.”

Tickets are $15, or two for $25, and are available at the door. Entry to the event also gets participants an opportunity to bid on a number of items, including a seven-day beach getaway; four park-hopper tickets to Disney World; family four-packs to DeSoto, Landmark Park and Adventure Land; a Nordic Track elliptical; portrait packages; and other items.

Entertainment will be provided by Men of Cornerstone Quartet from Newnan, Ga.
