Florala fundraiser set for City School

National recording artist Todd Allen Herendeen will perform in Florala on Sat., Aug. 13, at a Save Our School benefit.

The group is working to preserve and repurpose the Florala City School, which was built approximately 100 years ago.

todd-allen-herendeen-13Herendeen is an Indiana native who works from Panama City, Fla.

His shows include gospel, country, rock ‘n’ roll, and much more, and the versatility has led him to open for such legends as Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Chubby Checker, The Four Tops, The Platters, Leslie Gore, Danny and the Juniors, Freddie “Boom Boom” Cannon, Diamond Dave Somerville, and The Beach Boys.

He also has worked with country artists Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Ricochet, Bill Anderson, Gene Watson, John Conlee and others.

He was asked to be the entertainment in the Tropical Garden Theatre at Gulf World Marine Park in Panama City Beach, Fla., and has performed there for 13 seasons.
