FSA announces report deadlines

Covington County USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) Executive Director Josh Headley announced that producers who file accurate and timely reports for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage can prevent the potential loss of FSA program benefits.

Please pay close attention to the acreage reporting dates below for 2017, he said.

β€œIn order to comply with FSA program eligibility requirements, all producers are encouraged to visit the Covington County FSA office to file an accurate crop certification report by the applicable deadline,” said Headley.

The following acreage reporting dates are applicable for Covington County:

  • Nov. 15, 2016: grass certification
  • Jan. 2, 2017: honey
  • Jan. 15, 2017: blueberries, canola, rapeseed, fall oats, peaches and fall wheat
  • March 15, 2017: pecans and potatoes (planted 1/1/2017 – 1/31/2017)
  • May 15, 2017: sweet corn, tobacco, tomatoes and potatoes (planted 3/2/2017 – 4/15/2017)
  • July 15, 2017: all other crops
