The LBWCC Saints’ baseball team had a pair of players sign early division one college offers on Wednesday morning at the Solon Dixon Center on the campus of LBWCC.

Saints’ pitchers Zack Moore and Trevor McKinley each inked their signatures on the dotted lines and will continue their baseball careers at the next level.

Moore was a 2015 Ashford High School graduate, who has one season under his belt at LBWCC. Moore’s efforts in his freshman year were enough for Troy University to extend him an early offer. Moore will finish his final season at LBWCC before heading to Troy in 2017.

Moore appeared in 11 games as a freshman and made five starts. Moore finished the year with a 1-1 record and a 3.86 ERA.

“Coming to LBW has really prepared me to be mentally tough,” Moore said. “I’m looking forward to going to Troy and glad that it’s so close to home.”

McKinley was a 2015 graduate of Dadeville High School and then went to Marion Military Institute where he played baseball for a year before transferring to LBWCC this season.

McKinley signed an early offer with Nicholls State University.

“The best thing about coming to LBW has been the mental toughness that you gain,” McKinley said. “I’m just excited to have a chance to play baseball at the next level.”
