The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles improved to their record to 3-1 after winning a pair of games in the Geneva High School Thanksgiving Invitational Tournament.

“We are just really inexperienced right now,” Pleasant Home head coach Jerry Davis said. “I’ve got a bunch of eighth and ninth graders out there, and they just don’t know the game yet.”

In the first round of the tournament, the Lady Eagles battled their way to a 45-15 victory over Rehobeth.

River Baldwin was the top scorer with 21 points. Baldwin also added 11 rebounds to complete the double-double.

Camille Holley had a strong game and picked up 11 points for the Lady Eagles.

Pleasant Home then fell 46-30 to a tough Geneva squad. Baldwin led the way with 12 points.

“There really wasn’t much to say about the Geneva game,” Davis said. “We really are relying on River and she fouled out really early in the game.”

The Lady Eagles finished off the tournament with a strong 55-39 victory over St. Luke’s.

Baldwin was once again the leading scorer as she racked up 39 points in just three periods of play.

“We got up early on St. Luke’s and I got to put in most everyone,” Davis said. “We played better than we were the first game, but right now we are tying to develop some depth. We are relying heavily on River and we are just plodding through, but we are going to get better. I really feel like that by the end of the year that we will be competitive in our area.”
