Andalusia Health expects to enhance and expand the rehabilitation services offered in the local hospital through a partnership with Encore Rehabilitation that takes effect Jan. 2.

“We are excited about this new partnership and what it will mean to our patients and the community,” said John Yanes, CEO of Andalusia Health. “It will enable us to further enhance and expand the rehabilitation services we offer, and it will provide great training and growth opportunities for our current physical therapy team. This partnership is a win-win for our patients and providers.”

Encore’s enhanced physical therapy treatment plan includes a broader scope of options, as well as the possibility to introduce new services in the future such as occupational and speech therapy, an announcement released yesterday said. Through the partnership, Andalusia’s physical therapists will benefit from enhanced, hands-on training and professional development, the announcement said.

“We look forward to expanding into Covington County and being able to work with the team at Andalusia,” said Paige Plash, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Encore Rehabilitation. “We have been so impressed with the quality of care and compassion demonstrated by the Andalusia team, and we are truly excited about the possibilities ahead.”

Encore Rehabilitation, Inc. began with two University of South Alabama classmates in the physical therapy program who visualized a rehabilitation company that would provide exceptional physical therapy services and expand their roles as healthcare providers to a national level, according to its website.

Encore provides services at D.W. McMillan Hospital in Brewton; Encore Rehab of Evergreen; Encore Rehab of Monroeville; Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne; and numerous locations in Mobile and Pensacola.
