Lady Bulldogs top Carroll-Ozark

The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs stormed out to an early lead and held off the Carroll-Ozark Lady Eagles for a 5-2 victory on Saturday in the Bulldog Bash softball tournament to put the Lady Bulldogs in the semifinal game against Opp.

Haley Harper reached with a one-out single in the top of the first inning and then moved around to second off of a single from Millie Manring.

Haley Ballard then put the Lady Bulldogs on the board when she drove a single to left that allowed Harper to come around to score.

Zaria Jones followed with a hard single up the middle of the diamond to push Manring across for the Lady Bulldogs’ second run of the game.

The Lady Bulldogs broke the game wide open when Alana Nettles scorched line drive down the line in right and cleared the bases with an inside the park home run.

Carroll-Ozark added runs in the bottom of the third and fourth inning, but the Lady Bulldogs were able to hold on for a 5-2 victory.
