The Andalusia Bulldogs laid the hammer down on W.S. Neal before falling to Brantley on Tuesday in the 2017 Butch Youmans Memorial Tournament in Opp.

ANDALUSIA 17,

W.S. NEAL 7

Andalusia jumped out front in the opening game and held off W.S. Neal for a 17-7 victory.

Hogan Nichols got the Bulldogs on top 4-1 in the top of third inning when he drove in Riley Graham with a double into the gap in left center.

Will Clark followed with a mammoth home run that cleared the fence in left and a school bus that was parked behind the fence to put the Bulldogs on top 6-1.

W.S. Neal began inching back into the game and trimmed the Bulldog lead to 6-5 heading in to the top of the sixth.

The Bulldogs blew the game wide open in the top of the sixth inning to take a 16-5 lead.

Ethan Wilson came through with a big hit that cleared the head of the W.S. Neal center fielder and brought around three Bulldogs to score.

Riley Graham added an RBI double to put the Bulldogs on top 16-5.

W.S. Neal kept the game from being called by mercy rule by scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Nichols doubled to start the top of the seventh inning and his pinch runner Jake Barefoot came around to score the final run of the game on a passed ball.

“We hit the ball well,” Andalusia head coach Tyler Dent said. “Our defense wasn’t very good at all today. I was proud of the way Jacob Cravey threw in that first game. He really went out there and competed.”
