The Pleasant Home Eagles’ basketball coaches are putting on the 3rd annual Young Eagles Basketball Camp in May at Pleasant Home.

Campers must be between second and sixth grade.

Pleasant Home head coaches Troy Turman and Jerry Davis will be the ones conducting the camp.

The camp features individual instruction in both team and individual drill directed by Turman and his camp staff.

Campers have the chance to learn shooting, dribbling and passing fundamentals, as well as defensive fundamentals and teamwork.

There will also be camp competitions including free throw, hot shot and knockout.

Turman said that kids can expect to learn something about the game of basketball.

“Our camp goals are to learn and develop basketball fundamentals and skills,” Turman said. “We want them to develop confidence through playing basketball and learn the importance of teamwork through competitive competition. We also want to help them develop self discipline and work ethic.”

Each camper will receive a camp T-Shirt and camp basketball, Turman said.

There will also be individual awards given to the winners of the free throw, hot shot and knock out winner.

Campers must pre-register for the camp by May 19.

The camp will run from May 30 through June 1.

The camp will last from 10 a.m., until 1 p.m., each day.

Cost of the three-day camp is $45 per camper.

If a family registers multiple campers that are siblings, then each sibling will get a rate of $40 for the three-day camper tuition.

Registration forms can be found in the office at Pleasant Home School office.

There will be a $10 late fee for campers not signed up by May 19.

The camp will have a small concession stand, but campers may bring their own snack.
