A Turvin Mill Road man is behind bars after he allegedly shot into two occupied dwellings early Wednesday morning.

Covington County Sheriff Dennis Meeks said deputies were called to the Antioch Road/Enoch Road area around 4 a.m. to a report of shots inside or near a residence.

Meeks said deputies arrested Chad Owens around 8:30 a.m., at his residence on Turvin Mill Road.

Meeks said the Covington County Incident Response Team and the Covington County Sheriff’s Posse’s K9 Unit were called out.

Meeks said that Owens was eluding law enforcement on foot carrying a shotgun.

Meeks said local law enforcement officers were able to apprehend him without incident.

He is charged with two counts of discharging a firearm into a building, six counts of reckless endangerment, and cruelty to an animal, and is being held in the Covington County Jail on an $61,000 bond.

No one was injured in the incident.
