The Andalusia Police Department is holding the 4th annual National Night Out in Andalusia to promote community awareness, safety and to lead the city in the fight against crime.

The event will be held on Oct. 3, 2017, at the 100 block of Church St. in Andalusia from 6-9 p.m.

Attending will be the Andalusia PD, Andalusia Fire Department, Army National Guard, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Spacewalk of Andalusia, and any other law enforcement agency that wish to join in the festivities.

“We would like to see everyone out there to come and meet the officers,” Andalusia Chief of Police Paul Hudson said. “It’s also a good opportunity for us to meet the people of the public.”

All ages are welcome, and the event will have face painting, raffles and a karaoke contest.

The karaoke contest begins at 7:30 p.m.

National Night Out is a national event that is organized annually across the United States by the National Association of Town Watch to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.
