PHS hopes to upset Houston County

The Pleasant Home Eagles (1-2, 0-2) are up against a tough challenge as they hit the road tonight to take on Houston County (4-0, 2-0) for a Class 1A, Region 2 clash.

Houston County enters in leading the young series 2-1 and won last season’s tilt 34-14.

Coming into the week, Houston County hasn’t given up a point since the first week of the season.

Class 2A Cottonwood is the only team that has put any points up against Houston County during the 2017 season. Houston County won that game 27-12.

Houston County has dismantled their opponents the last three games and has outscored opponents 147-0 during that span.

Pleasant Home comes into the game on a tough two-game losing streak after getting beat 47-7 by powerhouse Brantley, and a heartbreaking double-overtime loss on the road to McKenzie.

The Eagles started the season with a big 27-0 victory over Fruitdale.

Pleasant Home has scored 80 points and given up 94 coming into week five.

Pleasant Home and Houston County will kickoff at 7 p.m., tonight in Columbia.
