The Florala Wildcats took a road trip down to Fairhope on Friday and came home with a 41-27 victory over St. Michael.

“It wasn’t a very pretty first half,” Florala head coach Scott Mason said. “We had three touchdowns get called back. Our quarterback was two steps in the end zone and they said he dropped the ball before he crossed the goal line.”

At halftime, the score was tied at 14-14.

“In the third quarter we came out on fire,” Mason said. “We were able to put in our twos in the game in the fourth quarter and they scored on us late.”

Mason said he was proud of the outcome of the game.

“Last week, we learned how to win,” Mason said. “This week, we learned how not to lose. We learned a lesson tonight, and I’m kind of glad that it happened the way that it did.”
