An Andalusia woman now faces two counts of third-degree burglary after illegally entering a residence twice in one night.

Andalusia Police Department investigator Sgt. Barney Tyree said Rachel E. Frank, 22, of Andalusia, was found hiding in the attic of a local residence after officers responded to a 911 hang up.

“Dispatchers received a 911 call from a male resident at approximately 6:08 p.m. Tuesday,” Tyree said. “The male subject provided his name and address, but then hung up the phone.”

According to Tyree, officers responded to the residence and were informed by the male subject that Frank was inside the residence. Tyree said Frank had been instructed not to return to the residence and had been placed under a court order to maintain distance from the property.

“I arrived at the residence and was informed by the male subject that Frank was inside,” Tyree said. “I began to search the residence and found Frank hiding under some insulation in the attic area. She was brought back to the police department and placed in a room to await questioning.”

Tyree said Frank earned her first of two counts of third-degree escape after escaping from custody prior to questioning, but was quickly apprehended at the location of the original offense.

“I was able to determine that she had gone back to the same residence,” Tyree said. “I located her hiding within the residence, she was charged with a second count of third-degree burglary for illegally obtaining entry into the residence and she was brought back to the police department.”

According to Tyree, Frank attempted one last escape prior to being transported to the Covington County Jail.

“After booking was completed an officer was placing Frank into a patrol car to be transported to the Covington County Jail,” he said. “She broke away from the officer and attempted to escape. We were able to detain her behind the library and she was then transported to the Covington County Jail.”

Tyree said Frank would now face two counts of third-degree burglary and two counts of third-degree escape with a total bond of $40,000, adding that steps are being taken to ensure similar situations do no occur in the future.

“We are looking into possible procedural changes for handling suspects while in custody,” Tyree said.

I have been in APD and you have to have a code to get into a door from the outside so why in the world don't you have to have one to get out? This is not the first person that has escaped from APD while inside the building. HELLO Chief Williams spend some of that money on securing your building instead of the new vehicles.

I wonder why Jeremy Henderson did not think to tell in whose house this woman was found?

LBW, please fund a scholarship for jennygirl292000 to receive some grammar lessons. It is very interesting that someone who can not even write a complete sentence or who can not use proper punctuation to tell the police how to do their job.

As I have stated in previous comments, get educated ( in this case literally) and then make your comments. Don't just spout off at the mouth about things.

It is obvious that you do not like the police and the job they try to do. I am sure there is more reason than you have revealed to us.

conin1 you have something against jennygirl personally and I think you should keep you opinion about her education to yourself. You are just instigating things with her. They ask for opinion on here not perfection!!!!

The point is missed by you as well. Uneducated breeds uninformed. It is nothing personal with anyone on here I just want people to think before they talk.

Thinking before we act or speak would solve most of our problems. An education is earned. Anyone can become educated if they so desire and at any age.

Well why don't you think before you talk? Im not uneducated i have my high diploma. I also have 2 years of college. Hows your intelligence level? Who are you to keep on jennygirl or myself I am entitled to have an opinion, i do believe an opinion is just that. Oh yea that right an opinion is like an ass hole everyone has one. Your really getting on my nerves acting like your some college professor all know it all and all that.

Conin.. You are really stuck on this education stuff! does it make you feel better when you put down someone else? Are you really that insecure? These board are to discuss robbery, rape, burglary, etc.. not someones education! As long as i can read when their typing then i dont have a problem with it. Its about time to get over yourself.. :)

bravesfan07, you don't have a problem with it, I do. Do you see how this could keep going? My problem with others grammer has nothing to do with my insecurites. I can't answer for for conin1. As for myself, it's when someone doesn't know the correct way to use "no" and "know" that I have a hard time respecting their opinon.

Im not perfect. But I got education. I do Know the difference in Knowing something, and telling someone the answer is no. For you alhm and conin1 you two don't know everything and perfection doesn't exist. So get a life beyond critiquing me.

To tell you the truth sunshine, the people thats making fun of everyone is really immature. Alhm and Conin having really nothing else better to do.. its rather sad! Are either one of you English teachers? If not, then thats the road Ya'll need to take. It'd be the perfect job.

Posted by bravesfan07 (anonymous) on October 21, 2008 at 10:12 p.m. (Suggest removal)

Opps! I did make a No-No! Alhm and Conin "HAVE" really nothing else better to do. Had to correct myself before someone else did.

It's funny you ask bravesfan07, my sister is an English teacher and I would have loved to have been also but I can't deal with children. If they are not mine they get on my nerves. You are correct in one fact though, it is true that I have nothing better to do than this. What about you? As far as perfection goes, I'm not perfect but I'm pretty close.

No one gets the point. I will try it again. Education is found on many different levels. One must be educated to speak on a topic with any merit. Educate yourself in how to speak as well as what you are speaking about.
