The Red Level Tigers (1-3) will travel to play their long-awaited rivalry game against the Florala Wildcats (1-2) Friday night.

The two teams last met in 2005 when the Wildcats took a 33-7 win.

Red Level coach Tim Grimes said that he realizes the kind of rivalry this is between the teams.

“This is a big renewed rivalry and we haven’t played them in a couple of years,” Grimes said. “We used to play them all the time and it’s always been a very hard fought game. Coach (Stan) Gooden has got those kids believing in what he’s doing down there and they’re responding.”

Grimes said the team has been working on their mistakes they made in their 42-6 loss against Millry last week.

“We’re going to try not to fumble the football,” he said. “We had about three or four against Millry. So, we’re trying to concentrate and do better work on timing, making sure the players are in good pockets and also making sure they secure the football before we start running.”

Kickoff in Florala is at 7 p.m.
