Many parts of county see water outages

Published Wednesday, December 16, 2009

Several areas throughout the county are experiencing water outages as a result of the county’s recent heavy rainfall.

Deborah Bennett of the Covington County Water Authority said two crews have been working throughout the day to repair broken water lines in Red Level, near Babbie and in the Red Oak community.

“My first crew spent the majority of the day north of Red Level working on a busted water main,” Bennett said. “Calls are coming in now that there is no water in Red Oak. We just ask that people be patient with us and if they are experiencing problems, please call and report them.”

Other areas affected include:

• Page Road, off U.S. Hwy. 84;

• Bowers Road, off Babbie Road;

• Shiloh Cemetery Road;

• Red Oak Road;

• Braswell Road; and

• Bass Bridge Road.

To report water outages in the county, call the CCWA at 334-428-2656.
