Saints finish 2-for-2 over weekend games

The Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Saints were 2-2 this past weekend against the top-ranked LSU-Eunice Bengals and Blackhawk College, winning the second games on Friday 14-13 against Blackhawk and Saturday against the Bengals, 6-3 in Andalusia.

LSU-Eunice 3
LBWCC’s Aaron Elmore and Josh Dozier supplied the win on the mound for the Saints against the Bengals in the final game of the series.
Elmore pitched 4.1 innings, allowed six hits, two runs, two earned runs, two walks and had two strikeouts.
Dozier saved the game, pitching 4.2 innings and allowing four hits, one run, five walks and striking out five batters.
The leading hitters for the Saints (22-6) were T.J. Parks, Jeffry Etheridge, Daniel Shear and Taylor Culbreth.
Parks was 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base; Etheridge was 2-for-3 with one RBI; Shear was 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI; and Culbreth was 1-for-3 with two RBIs.

Blackhawk 13
In the Saints’ one-run victory Friday, Jeremy Williams was 4-for-4 with one run and three RBIs; Etheridge was 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBIs and one stolen base; Culbreth was 1-for-1 with four runs and one double; and Parks was 2-for-4 with two runs, one RBI, one double and two stolen bases.

In the loss to the top-ranked Bengals, Parks was 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBIs and two home runs and Culbreth was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Blackhawk 21, LBWCC 4
In the Saints’ opening loss Saturday, Williams was 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI; Culbreth was 1-for-2 with one run; and Ryan Waltman was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
The Saints host East Central Mississippi today in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. Thursday, the Saints will travel to play Meridian, Miss., in Thomasville at 3 p.m.
