I was passing through when the second fire was going. Prior to the fire departments arrival two men had stopped at the house as well, One yelled to the gathering crowd had anyone checked to make sure there was no one inside, and the answer was no. As he ran towards the house and was making his way in through the front door someone yelled that the man who lived there had left earlier, at this time his attention turned to a small puppy that was chained to a dog pen close to the side of the house, Him and the other man went to the puppy and moved the entire dog pen and puppy out of harms way. They were not done, From that point one man ran to help the ONLY Fireman there at the time with the hose and disappeared inside the burning home, The other man helped the driver of the fire truck and went around the other side with another hose. Mind you the spectators and myself saw this house was soon to be burnt to the ground as the fire was already through the roof in the back. Soon the fire was being put out and the smoke was becoming less. The house was not going to be a total burn, Thanks to these two (Unknown Men??) and the Gantt Heath Fire Depts. Sad this happened to this person’s house. But there was more to the story, A Good side to the story, TWO men that are known to me, but I will refrain from posting their names, as I know they did it not for the glory but from the heart! How do I know this? Well as soon as everything was safe and the fire departments were cleaning up they quickly and quietly left the property. If you guys read this I say THANK YOU for your honest hard willingness to put yourself into harms way for a stranger, and a cute puppy. God Bless you! Bean,

PS GREAT JOB GANTT/HEATH VFD! Proud to live here knowing we have heros such as you!
