Bulldogs fall in Enterprise

Published Monday, November 23, 2009

Andalusia coach Richard Robertson said his team is still trying to find its identity after a 54-51 loss to Enterprise last Friday night.

“We haven’t solidified ourselves yet,” Robertson said. “We’re not shooting the ball well.”

Robertson said the team had a nine-point lead at halftime Friday.

“We were playing nine to 10 people,” he said. “That is too many people on the court. We’ve got to improve and we’ve got to identify our ‘go-to’ players.”

Andalusia’s O’Brien Curry led in scoring with 12 points, Jacard Townsend had eight and Quayshaun Denson added 11.

“They did most of the scoring for us,” Robertson said. “We overall, we didn’t have a good game and made too many turnovers. We had 21 turnovers and we missed a bunch of lay-ups. We’ve got to execute and we didn’t do that.”

Enterprise’s Michael Sheldon led his team in scoring with13 points, Rhett Harrelson had 11 points and Jourdan McGowan had 10 points.

Andalusia moves to 1-1 on the season and will continue its season playing Ashford at the Enterprise Classic tournament in Dothan today.

“We have a chance to be good at it if we grow up mentally and physically,” Robertson said. “We’re potentially not good if you don’t put it to use.”

In other action Friday night, the B-team lost 47-24.
