Tigers to bout with Lions
Published Thursday, October 1, 2009
Straughn is looking for a turnover-less game tonight as the Tigers host Central-Hayneville for homecoming.
Last week for the second straight game, Straughn’s offense was hampered by the turnover bug at Opp, resulting in a 20-7 loss.
Although the Tigers out-gained Opp offensively, 222 yards to 177 yards, Straughn turned the ball over five times while Opp never turned it over.
In its previous game, a 27-0 loss to Bayside Academy, Straughn turned the ball over seven times.
Tonight, the Tigers (2-3, 2-1 in Class 3A, Region 1) will host Central-Hayneville. The visiting Lions have not earned a win this season.

not to complain because I do understand this is the "andalusia" star. but, how come it is we always have an aarticle you don't even have to scroll through? Even Opp how has a newspaper in their own city get's a bigger article than us. plus it's homecoming come on now.

I have been saying that all year!! I do understand it is the Andalusia Star, but it is a county wide paper. All schools should be treated fair in the deal. This is the worst excuse for a sports section I have ever read!!!

Look back at the Sept 30 article entitled Sweep,Sweep,Sweep
Do you see any names or stats in there from any team but
Straughn?
I do agree with you, however, the sports guy is a joke.

You'd have gotten more coverage if you were playing yourselves tonight!

Awww, common. What else was there two say? Turnovers are a BIG problem and I saw every one of them. Maybe tonight's game (51 point favorite by Yratings) will provide many opportunities to hang on to da ball without it being a game-breaker. Hopefully, tomorrow's news clip will be short and to the point: "Straughn 51, Turnovers 0"
