Super.....how many years has the county not had to take money from other areas to keep it open. What is being done during all the days that their is no shows. Look up the schedule at all the empty days. If your business did not have enough business everyday to pay the utilities,insurance,labor and maintenance you would have to close the door.

Blondie.....You can't judge every district by yours. This all started around 8 years ago with the big wigs wanting to build a castle to have horse and cow shows. How many years has the ARENA been self supporting. Get real the little county worker is not what caused this county MILLIONS.

The last admin had a chance. They wanted to tear down instead of doing things positive for Florala. To much fussing. I really hope your new ones will be successful moving Florala foward. Good Luck!

If the Arena did not make it when things weren't this bad it sure as heck will not pull it's on weight in the hard times we are having now. The next mistake is if the county goes to the unit system. Each district needs someone to represent them and keep things in bound. That's the purpose of boards in schools,banks,etc. The engineer should not have all the say so. We need say roads and bridges more than we need the Arena. I want my kids riding on a school bus on dirt roads to be safe. There are other areas to cut besides the road departments. The little man working for the county are not the one's that put the county in this mess. It was the decision of a few select big wigs wanting things this county to have but we do not have the population to support. Think about it!

Southernattitude BREAKING NEWS............The little man working for Covington County did not put the county in this mess.The BIG man caused this.A covered arena was wanted but purchased a castle that is not even air conditioned.Since the BARN was built how many years has it supported it's self? That is what the BIG PEOPLE in the county wanted not the little people. Just ask some of the little people what they really think about the BARN. Get real and put the blame on the one's responsible. Be fair and stop blaming the one's working and struggling to survive. Maybe the big one's would like to share the wealth. NOT! All the talk is about cutting benifits from the little working man. No mention of cutting the big one's. Only in America. Maybe they are looking for the little man "to bail them out". Sound familiar?
