Sounds good, All of covington county schools should do it. The helpers wont be taking the role of the teacher but they will be lending a helping hand. Why would any school have a problem with doing whats best to help the kids.

Its good that these people not just kids are getting busted. Its their choice to drink and all of us innocent dont need to be in harms way for some irresponsible choices of those who need drinks or booze to have a good time. Why should anyone be victims of bad choices. maybe if the parents would crack down on their kids the ABC wouldnt have to babysit them for you. Yeah kids sneak off and parents cant keep a 24/7 eye on them but come on the signs of controled substances in a kid are there. Wake up and smell the coffee and stop being babies when your babies or yourselves get caught. Ya wanna play you pay! you do the crime you do the time!

They should be under house arrest for the rest of their lives. We all know they get released and move on they're sicko-s. Im not sure what the laws are about keeping distances from schools but they wander, they're our neighbors or down the road, they're everywhere Its disgusting, and its just sad that they prey on the young. I watched a Dr Phil show awhile back and the topic was registered offenders, he said they prey on the young because they're more defensless, easy to scare into not telling and it makes the psycho feel dominant. I think all offenders should have a monthly residence check with a house search, so if anything out of the norm or any signs of poprnography they get busted again. How often do they update those offender sites anyway are the adresses and pictures current?

Im not sure how the whole inmate system works. Inmates should have some kind of booking (a money booking) let their families put money in their accounts to help pay for food and stuff. So they can be charged for their meals and such. When their accounts get low then they need to call home/ friends to get some money put into their accounts. They did the crime it should be their dime. Yes maybe there is some less fortunate ones with nobody to call but you know what we're not all fortunate and we have to make due. Give them chores to pay off some inside debt (sweep, dishes, something...) Let them be like everyone else , if they have only enough money to pay for 1 meal then so be it, not everyone has 3 meals a days., let alone a bed, a roof over their heads.....etc. If they are given meals with no personal accounts then bill them. All fines need to be paid at the time of releasing. Kids have lunch accounts at school do the same system for inmates. Make it so they dont want to go back, some may think they have it better on the inside. Prison isnt the hilton and they shouldnt be catered too.

Well i agree that those on a fixed income have it hard to survive, especially during economic hard times BUT they only show names and ages so why assume unless you know these people that, thats why they were dealing. Criminals come in all ages who is to say they just started doing this to survive these hard times? they may have been doing it for years and just only got caught. You play! You Pay! and its no excuse to sell

Like outlaw said DHR should be contacted. Look at all these school shootings and teachers/public say they had no signs well heres a sign.....nobody knows how far this child would have gone and thats the scary thing. If this was my child I would go over everyones head, put a fire under all butts and contact the HIGHEST person( Gov. Riley). The schools may be the governments but the children are OURS! Do whatever it takes to protect our kids. Was the police notified of this? a weapon on school grounds?

Nodbody is saying the band is useless nor be dropped that was never said. everyone is twisting words. Everyone is venting and mentioning things. If you go back and read all the comments and the things being said its opinions. The posts have jumped from all different topics and all different opinions. Nobody is calling any names either, that is very juvenile. PE isnt wimpy its required by the state board of ed (its in the handbook). And for the bad grades, all I meant was the parents need to step up and teach the kids there are consequences. The teachers can only do so much.

Well if the students dont do their homework and they want to fail then thats their problem they have parents at home. Communicate with your kids. Parents need to be parents. Some parents need to realize school isnt a drop off/daycare so you have alone time or so you can go to work. Its a school. The renovations may look nice but with times getting in a pinch they should have held off and put aside the money for emergencies. Band is PE how do you figure that, all the other kids have to run laps, and do exercises. And for the mention of cussing or acting out, yea kids will see it and hear it. But if some parents arent allowing their kids to act or speak that way at home where do they get off acting unprofessionaly. These are the role models our kids sit with most of the day. Eventually they will think its the way to act and us parent that are trying to raise them to respect will soon be the nagging parents/the unfair ones. Some have their clicks because your either related or went to school there yourself. Ive never seen a school thats staff is mostly of those that spent their whole life there or related. Your all going to back each other up.

Nobody is saying you shouldnt be able to send your child where you want them to go but when you start allowing out of towners access( no matter how far they are) then everyone will want the same. How will the line be drawn then? schools become over crowded, which means the ratio between teacher and students are out the roof. Which means less learning cause theres more time wasted on trying to keep a class in control.
