Because of luck and some good hearted law enforcement officers, I was spared on occasions for doing things that young, immature people do while growing up.

While it is true the police were doing their job, it would have been much better to have had them surrender that amount of alcohol that put them over the legal limit, give them a good talking to, and send them on their way. This is not a bash to our police officers because I have great respect for them. However, since they were apparently not drinking (or at least the driver) at the time, a little leniency and common sense could have been used rather than leaving 6 young men (with possibly bright futures) with felony arrests and in jail far away from home.

Unless they were drinking while under the wheel, I don't see this as being a big issue especially if there appeared to be no criminal intent. Unfortunately for these young men, it could haunt them for the rest of their lives if the felony sticks.

Railroad ROW belongs to the railroad. The DOT can't touch it without permission from the railroad, and that is hard to get. The RR attitude is if their train rides smooth, there is no problem. Complaining should be leveled towards the railroad. The DOT is usually very eager to help out with funds for crossing improvements if they can get the owner on board.

My statement above was a general statement and not meant as an endorsement for Mr. Jones.

Estrogen: I do support family values and want good Christians and other moral people in public office so beware. As far as Rep. Ashburn, all I can say is that if you are going to talk the talk, you better be able to walk the walk or suffer the consequences. Everyone who makes claims are not always what they say they are. That goes for Christians and non-Christians alike.

Our country was founded on Christian principles though...I never mentioned the Constitution.

I don't think anyone is pushing for a theocracy worm....don't get delusional. But if you are wondering if I would prefer God fearing moral persons running our government, then the answer would be yes. Our nation was founded on Christian principles that have worked out pretty well I'd say since we are no doubt the greatest and most blessed nation in the world. I don't think that was by chance. So yeah, God Bless America.
