I hope, Team_Greg, that as you make these remarks the one you're representing is aware. Because of having worked for him for three years, and I as thought I knew him, he would not have previously allowed such comments to be made.
As far "bashing" Mr. Gambril I never did. I on many occasions did acknowledge when confronted that I had a friendship with Mr. Merrell and his family. I had nothing to hide, but at the same time, I also informed Mr. Gambril he was my boss and he was who signed my checks, not Mr. Merrell. So the story of us "bashing" Mr. Gambril is very untrue. That my dear, is the rest of the story.

TEAM_GREG..have you sat down and had a meeting with Greg? If so, I would certainly like to know what was told to you. If it is not the two stories he has already given. I personally appreciate the respect and opinions of each one of you on this post. I am Brandy Holmes Smith. I am proud of the job I did for the citizens of Covington County and I will never say that I nor Grace nor Brett did anything but our jobs. There are many others in that very office, courthouse, and in this county that will say the same. Differences of opinions, everyone will have their own. I was there. I know what was said, and as previously stated in an earlier comment by my mother, he did what he thought was right. I have no hard feelings for what was done. I will survive, it may be handing out pecans, mowing lawns, I will do what I have to do..I work for a living. I'm not ashamed of what has happened to me, I have no reason to be.

andy2utah...knowing you for a long time, as I have, I can say that you are not only just like you were in school but have never changed. Yes you were a bookworm, you grew up in a broken home, many times broken and that was your only source to keep your life somewhat the same, to keep your nose in a book instead of facing reality. Once you moved off you really were forgotten until you decided to send a letter to the Star News in which you "bashed" the people of Covington County. Once again, you've felt that was something you needed to do, but not only the people who send emails in Covington County but to the people in this great State as well and I personally as well as any other proud citizen in this state do take offense. I'm glad you're satisfied with your 106 comments, this one will make 108 and I'm proud to say 108 to get to tell you how sorry I am for you that your life has come to such a pathetic place you feel the need to say such about a wonderful place to live and a wonderful community of people.
Good luck in Salt Lake Lauren..you're going to need luck wherever you go with an attitude like yours.

I as well agree with Festus and alhm. As far as, Alabama coming out of the cave of ignorance, if the cave of ignorance that we live in is the cave of God's love and the ability to trust in our Lord, for our Lord to be able to pull us through the tough economic times that our country is in..I'll stay in my cave of ignorance. I prefer it.
Lauren, you may feel you live somewhere else and have the knowledge of the South to where you can speak of it in such a nature, you have no knowledge of the way things are, but a few. As Fetus stated before, speak with those people, just as you say the others were categorized, you have not only done the same but the same things you listed above as the emails were doing to you.
So sorry you have such a hard heart for Alabama and our beliefs in our Lord. I will pray for you tonight. God Bless.

I will say this, as most of you know, I am NO fan of the county administrator or the position period. I feel it was a position created by a former chairman to employ his really good "friend" at the time. With that said, I am sure there is plenty to deal with, being the chief financial officer for the county with that said is it not up to her how the money is spent? And I am not also correct in that she allocates/budgets what money goes where and that she could have given the money to have had the jail repaired properly??

Team_Greg....I don't know you. I would have to assume you are a dishonest, untrustworthy, immoral, uneducated, low life who has nothing better to do than bash someone on the internet.
