Amen.

Wow, if I were him, I definitely wouldn't want you guys defending me. If this is your definition of 'standing behind your husband/FIANCE' when they need you, you've got a lot to learn about marriage. Stupid decisions don't need any standing behind.
FYI, It's fiance for the man, fiancee for the woman (with an accent mark). Poor, poor English teachers. Reputations being butchered all over the place by people who don't pay attention. I don't blame the teachers at all. It's called not listening.

Yeah, ya'll have really been through a lot. That's what I mean; kids thinking that it's just a big bad world. Jason25, you are an idiot. He "outran" a police car one time. All that means is that he'll get caught next time, or in this case, he really didn't even get away. It's always the one's who do wrong who blame it on the "sorry cops". Newsflash!!!! They're here to keep us safe on the roads from people like your friend who thought it was a better idea to run than just pull over and get his ticket. "Scared of what would happen?" PLEASE!! He would've gotten a ticket. Instead, he did something that he could be convicted of a felony for. Your license is a privilege. And really, this isn't even about the boy anymore. This is about 'friends' like you trying to act like nothing is wrong with the way teenagers act. Don't make stupid choices!!!! It's not the officers' fault when you do something stupid. We all have family members who have made stupid choices, but no, we don't all take up for them when they make decisions like this. And no, Jason, I don't cower. I just know the right things to do. I have morals.
By the way, for these people who are making Red Level look like complete garbage with their posts, I am from Red Level. I am also only a few years older than these boys and girls posting. The difference is that I learned from life, and listened to my English teacher!! :)

And no, not everyone did get into trouble during their youth.

Acutally, no, not EVERYone learns from their mistakes. He was released earlier this month for minor in consumption. Sounds like a few of you need to grow up. Yeah, we all make mistakes, but we don't all try to outrun the police when we do something wrong on the highway. You kids need to grow up and learn right from wrong. If you don't do it yourself, "right" will find you in ways you don't want it to. I'll never understand why some people always take up for those who do the completely wrong thing. If you really want to help, it's called TOUGH LOVE. Otherwise, acting like it wasn't really a big deal will only make it worse for the perpetrator the next time. And I'm only a little older than those of you taking up for him, but the way I see it is you either learn from what life has dealt you or you sit in a pity party for the rest of your life blaming others for the wrong decisions you make. So there: GROW UP.

I agree with tankmaster. Take advantage of things that could benefit the city. I, for one, think it's great that our police department puts so much effort into training and now they'll be able to offer it to other departments as well. There will always be negative people like lawsuit. Seriously, bringing up the water cannon again? Research before you make comments that you know nothing about. These things were free and I'm glad to see that they did go to a deserving group of people. Better than hearing about able bodied, lazy people who sit at home and let the government pay for their way of life. Talk about tax payer money going to waste.....now there's something to get fired up about. Government handouts to people who can, but won't get out and work.

Most retail stores don't get to order what comes in and what inventory they carry. They get what comes to them. I know it gets frustrating but the people who work at the store, or even manage the store usually can't do anything about that. Since they are going to have more square feet of selling space, maybe the variety in departments will grow.

The police department has to apply for grants and has to use the money from those grants for the certain things that the money is specifically for. For those of you who have not read previous stories about the water cannon, it was one of the only available items left to be purchased from that particular grant money. That's how a grant works: for specific purposes. Now as far as people bashing the police force and its Chief, grow up. Most of the people around here who have a problem with our police departments are people who do the wrong thing anyway, and then try and give the people who are doling out the justice a bad name. Chief Williams is a very intelligent man that does a wonderful job, as are the majority of the law enforcement officers not only under him, but through the county as well.
I don't think you'll be complaining about them when you have to call them to come help you out.
As far as the training goes, wouldn't you like our police force to have all the training possible? I know I would. They get out and risk their lives every day and night all for a bunch of people like this to bash and trash them. I know it's Andalusia and not much goes on around here, but the unknown is what they face all the time. Show a little more respect to the people who do all this for you even after you undermine them.

I cannot get over the fact that this is actually printed in the paper. Who saw who at what restaurant, who went to what hotel.....Writer, get a diary!

I would appreciate that tough curriculum if I were you. I went to a school that had didn't have nearly the expectations or curriculum that Andalusia does, and I felt shorted after I graduated high school. You'll appreciate it when you complete it. You'll have several more opportunities after you graduate because of the coursework you took while at AHS, and the general coursework in college will probably be a breeze. Be thankful.
