I think Festus is right, I remember when that office had only 3 people , now who knows, and the bad part of this is she's seldom there.
Blondie , It could be a state park, So could the Arena be state operated, Garrett Coliseum, is now state owned, same kind of a deal we are looking at here.
The Commissioners need to stop the Trucks from going home, That would save over $100,000.00 or so a year. Also, Commissioners should stop getting Mileage, that's around $12,000. a year ,each, Let them have a Truck to travel on. Stop the Bleeding of our tax money.

I don't have a horse or do I use the Arena, But I have been to the horse shows, and it wasn't even 1/3 full. I’m not against horses or the people that love them. I’m just saying it's not making the money to support it's self, must less the people that runs it.
I would like to say Thanks to the Star News for letting us vent like we all do on here..

It seems that the heads of Mr. Wells and Mrs. Petty are on the chopping block from all of you and I agree.. The Districts have been cut back so much already, I really don't see how they do that they do. But in some cases they have more Equipment than they have men. Not so many years ago some of the Districts (#4) Had 13 people working in it. Now? about 6 or 7... that’s a cut back. the only thing is the Trucks going home,, and yea the Commissioner should have a truck, and Not Mileage.. Mileage can run in to another salary in it's self . I think we need to look at that... As far as District #4 brown bagging it now, Well that’s been going on for over 4o years that’s nothing new there.

The Arena was a BIG MISTAKE from the start. And they said it was costing $427,471 a year to keep it open? This is a NO Brainer. SHUT IT DOWN OR GET RID of it.. Sure Mr. Wells wants to keep it open.. He makes Big Money for doing nothing.. Who wouldn't? And as far as the Ball Fields go, it don't take all that to grade off a field to play ball in.. and add to it as you get the funds, you don't have to have the state of the art ball field from the start. Build on all along..

Why don't they have night meeting? Sometimes anyway, this is our tax money we are talking about. Why should we not have a say. The kids need the ball fields, if they stopped the trucks going home, that would pay for them. I’m not out and about where I can see the trucks, but the people that comes in the store sure are talking about it.. like Mel is talking about. And as far as I know Mr. Wells is only Qualified to sell Insurance.
